stolen_breechesWelcome to the home of Stolen Breeches on Dreamwidth! This community is focused on the pairing of Benjamin Davidson and Felicity Merriman from the American Girl books and the movie adaptation. It began on LiveJournal in July 2010, and the affiliated tumblr was created soon after. I imported the original LJ community to Dreamwidth in 2023.
If you're looking for fic, fandom, fellowship, or are craving a trip down memory lane, check out the following:
• The Ben Davidson/Felicity Merriman tag on AO3
• The American Girl (books) tag, filtered for Felicity on fanfiction.net. You'll have to dig and Ben doesn't have a character tag, but there's a bunch of Felicity/Ben fic in there. Also check out the American Girl tag without the character filter.
• This FFN Ben/Felicity fanfic masterpost on tumblr. And here's the post for AO3.
• The original stolen_breeches LJ community.
• The stolen_breeches tumblr (currently being redesigned)
• Some tumblr tags to keep an eye on: Felicity Merriman, American Girl, Ben Davidson, benicity, Felicity x Ben, and Felicity/Ben (try the names reversed, too.) A few these tags will have content from the unrelated TV show "Felicity" mixed in, as is tradition.
• I've stumbled across discussions on the American Girl subreddit (and affiliated Discord server), AG podcasts, historical costumers on Instagram, YouTube comments, random tweets, etc. These conversations are usually pretty fleeting, but it's worth keeping an eye out for likeminded fans.
• If you're feeling nostalgic and would like to revisit the books but no longer have your copies:
- support your local library by borrowing them
- purchase them new or used. Be aware that editions may vary
- search archive.org for the title of the book you're looking for. They have a great selection of the books in multiple editions, available to borrow with a free account.

- borrow, rent, or buy it
- YouTube
